How to Clean the Floor Tiles Not the Whole Floor in India?
One of the reasons for opting for floor tiles is that, apart from increasing aesthetics, they require relatively low maintenance and are easier to clean than the normal floor. However, you will still require specific products and methods to ensure the tiles’ safe and proper cleaning. Here is a list of using the safe methods for cleaning mosaic, wood, cement or other forms of tiles:
Cement Tiles
Sweep the cement tiles daily to brush away dirt and wash only once a week using water and mild pH-neutral soap to clean the dried residue.
Remember not to use an acid-based cleaning solution or bleach on cement tiles, as they cause damage to the surface of the tile by washing away the seal.
Mosaic Tiles
If you have mosaic tiles on counters, backsplashes, showers, or bathroom floors, go in for mild detergent and water. In some cases, diluted solutions can be a good option too.
It is a good idea to sweep the floors first, using a broom with soft bristles, and then use a pH-neutral cleaner and water to mop the floor. Finally, rinse it off to remove excess liquid.
Handmade Tiles
Use a soft bristles broom to sweep the floor made of handmade tiles.
Then, use a mild detergent and water or diluted dishwashing soap to rub the floor clean gently.
Dry the floor with a clean linen cloth to remove excess liquid.
Marble Tiles
The first thing that you can do to prevent stains is to seal your marble with a marble tile sealer to prevent recurring stains.
If you find molds forming on the tiles, use a dry towel to dry them periodically.
It is a good idea to go in for light touch-up cleanings of the marble tile once a week with warm water and some dish soap or a pH-neutral detergent.
Granite Tiles
To prevent dust from accumulating on granite floors, ensure that you sweep and dry mop daily.
Never use abrasive or acidic cleaners or bleach. Use warm water and a soft cloth for best results.
After cleaning with soap and water, use a dry cloth to wipe off the excess moisture.
Remember that if the color of the granite is light, then hydrogen peroxide will do the trick. But if the granite is dark-colored, then use acetone as a cleaning agent.
Wooden Tiles
The best way of keeping wooden tiles clean is by sweeping them every day.
In tea or coffee spills, use warm water and pH-balanced cleaner to wipe off the stain using a mop gently.
Finally, remember to wipe off the excess moisture using a dry and clean cloth or rag. Do not use abrasive liquids or materials that can damage the floor.
